John G. Bendt was born in Port Washington, Wisconsin and is the second oldest of seven children. He grew up in a middle class family and received his grade school and high school education in Port Washington. He earned a B.S. degree Business Administration from Marquette University.
John:s management experience is broad, having held marketing and sales management positions with four Fortune 500 companies participating in a variety of industries including consumer paper products, pharmaceuticals, and food products. He led and directed national sales and marketing staffs as Vice President of Marketing, Sanna, Inc., Subsididary of Beatrice Foods Company, and Vice President, Consumer Products Division, Sandoz Nutrition.
He has also provided management consulting services. As a management consultant, he assisted clients in various industries with services such as strategic business planning, marketing and sales strategy, and the development of tactical plans.
John has conducted career prep seminars for middle school and high school students. He has written career planning articles for Education Week and the National Career Development Association”s Career Convergence Web Magazine. He has also presented career planning ideas for teens at a NCDA Global Conference held in Washington DC
Yesterday was the first of our two Career Discovery Workshops with the class of 2022 Flaherty Family Foundation Scholars in Region 2 (DC, VA, MD)! They spent the day learning about the importance of soft skills like communication, teamwork/networking and problem solving in employment (but really in all of life)! Tremendous gratitude to Facilitator, John Bendt and our guest speakers, Vincent Williams, CSCS and Dr. Kinney! Thanks to our host school Mount Saint Joseph High School!
